Hi! I'm Laura Goff, and I live in northern Minnesota with my best pal, Brutus. He's a social butterfly who brings joy to everyone he meets. He's happiest when outdoors, loves hiking & canoe rides.
I love spending time with my family and enjoying nature. Whether it's a hike, bike, or paddle; being outdoors is where I feel at home. I also enjoy audiobooks and podcasts, particularly those centered around holistic health, communication/relationships, spirituality, psychology, biking, and fieldcraft survival. I have a love for learning. Exchanging knowledge and experiences with others brings me joy!
My wellness journey started in the fitness industry. I exercised so I was able to do the things I love, but I grew bored working out alone. I started taking group exercise classes. I enjoyed being part of a community. I loved it so much that I became an instructor and taught a variety of classes including yoga, HIIT, water aerobics, and barbell strength, and provided personal training.
I've always been fascinated by the workings of the human body and the connection between nutrition and performance. I often tested this by observing how different foods affected my energy levels and overall well-being. I wanted to learn more! I decided to become a Health Coach. I received my certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and completed Holistic Lifestyle Coaching Level 1 through the Chek Institute.
I gained a whole new perspective on health and wellness. Wellness is all-encompassing—it's not only about physical health, but also about mental, emotional, and social well-being. I realized by gaining awareness, I was capable of making big changes in my life. This ignited the beginning of my transformative healing journey.
I've immersed myself in spirituality, self-care, and self-compassion. It's been eye-opening. I was so hard on myself, using internal dialogue that I would never use with others. I thought being a good person meant prioritizing others and suppressing my truth. I was afraid of being vulnerable and communicating openly. I stopped listening to my intuition and relied on external advice on how to live and feel. I was suffering because I was stuck in a victim mindset.
I'm exploring new practices such as breathwork, sound baths, plant medicine, and reiki. I've joined communities and courses focused on growth and healing. These experiences enabled me to release old stories and emotions holding me back. Letting go of guilt, shame, anger, and fear has created space for a deeper understanding of life, love, and spirituality. I am thankful for my curiosity for knowledge & truth because it's leading me back to... me!
Through this journey, I've learned how to be more compassionate, loving and patient with myself and others. I've been able to shift towards a creator mindset and make choices for a better life. I'm capable of watching my inner experience without becoming emotionally activated. When I'm not emotionally charged, I can communicate more effectively and speak my truth. This has helped strengthen and deepen my relationships.
I fall back into old habits from time to time, but it's easier to recognize and regroup. I'm okay with being vulnerable and admitting when I'm wrong because I take responsibility for what happens in my life. Life isn't happening to me, I get to create it! I will continue to explore and learn, and I can't wait to share it with you.
